Technology, Ideas and Discussion around Inclusive Education

Sight and Sound Technology developed the Getting AT Ready events to provide Disability professionals in Further and Higher Education (FE and HE) the opportunity to share best practice, learn about new technologies and to hear from experts, so that they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to develop existing accessibility policies and procedures.

Getting AT Ready is a pan-disability event, providing solutions and ideas for supporting people with, but not limited to:

  • Dyslexia
  • Dyscalculia
  • Autism
  • Mental Health
  • Sensory and Mobility Impairments.

The day includes:

  • Workshops designed to encourage discussion and sharing, led by handpicked innovators in their field.
  • Panel discussions giving delegates access to prominent decision makers in FE and HE, and the opportunity to directly ask them questions.
  • An exhibition of Assistive Technology developers and service providers, including the very latest products and resources designed to enable people to work and study effectively.

Attendance is free and a CPD certificate will be provided.

“The Getting AT Ready event was great for meeting colleagues across the sector to discuss the shared challenges we face and explore some of the new technologies which are in the market to help develop a better equivalence of experience to our students. As a result, we have now already joined pan Scotland AT user groups we didn’t even know existed until then, so the knowledge sharing for us has massively helped us redefine our AT path.”

“Last year’s Getting AT Ready event was a great chance to catch up with colleagues from other institutions as well as look at some new offers from suppliers.  I thought that it was a well-balanced and well-run event and I will definitely be attending this year.”
